How to store pool chemicals

Keep pool chemicals dry, cool and separated, in their original labeled containers. [1]

Storage

Store pool chemicals below 95°F (35°C), out of direct sunlight and in low humidity, and protect them from getting wet. [1]

Store each pool chemical separately in a dedicated location, away from incompatible chemicals, in the original container. [1]

Keep gasoline-, diesel- or gas-powered equipment out of the pool chemical storage area. [1]

Store chemicals on shelves or pallets off the floor, and avoid storing liquids above incompatible chemicals. [2]

Handling

If a label says to pre-dissolve, add the chemical to water, never water to the chemical; a violent reaction can occur. [3]

Use separate, designated tools for each chemical. [2]
