Garage storage: gasoline, pesticides and pool chemicals
Store gas cans in cool, well-ventilated areas away from ignition sources, never inside the house or basement. [1]
Fuel
Use a child-resistant gas can, keep it out of children's reach, and always recap it. [1]
Don't store gas cans near fuel-burning appliances, pilot lights, heaters or electric mowers. [1]
Pesticides
If possible, keep pesticides in a locked cabinet in a well-ventilated utility area or garden shed, never near food, animal feed or medical supplies. [2]
Never move pesticides into soft drink bottles or other containers. [2]
Pool chemicals
Keep pool chemicals away from gasoline, oil, paint solvents and oily rags. [3]
